Hey,

Yes it?s always good to know where to Stop :)

Disassembling should not be a big problem I think ... I?m more or less used to disassemble things like this cause as it?s one of my hobbies working with Electrical/technical stuff (Soldering/diassembilnng/reassembling a.s.o).

The main thing which I?m concerned about is if there are any (probably hidden) warranty seals ?! or if they probably could see in case of a warranty issue that the TV had been opened ?

I?m surely courious in taking a look of whats inside or to take some Pictures ;)

Regards

I wonder that does manual indicates if disassembling unit voids it's warranty?

Hi there,

sorry can you explain what was meant by your last post ? Did you mean that warranty isn?t void by pening the TV ? or Did I get it wrong ... are there no seals ?

Is there are visible seals that writes on it "Warranty Void if removed...etc" ? Or is there any word on manual about warranty?
If there is no word about it, you can open your TV even if they have internal - non visible seals... Because you cannot guess that if disassembling TV voids warranty or not.
They needed to indicate it at least on manual. ;)

If they able to detect that TV opened by you and they say this voids warranty, you also have a right to ask them where they write this at manual of TV (on the judge) ;)

Hi There,

so far as I saw there were no visible warranty seals at the TV .

Good point about the warranty explanation at the manual ... as far as I can see there are no explicit statements about not to open the TV in fact oft voiding the warranty ... only thing that is written there ist do not open in fact of electrical hazards / shocks.

So I think if I got some more time I?m going to take a closer look if there are any hidden seals ... if not I?ll probably give it a try to remove tha back cover.

So if I decide to remove the cover, what probably would beuseful 2 know ?!

regards

Hi again,

Today I?ve tryed to play a little bit with the actual Firmware update from Samsung ...

I took the actual version 1014.3 and the older 1012.3 (to which I want to downgrade) extracted it to separate folders.
My Idea is/was to change appdate.img.sec and the exec.img.sec from the old version to the folder of the new version(rootfs and Image aren?t changed same checksum like other versions).
So I copied the older files to the folder of the new version (1014) and changed the checksum from the images at the validinfo.txt but when I put the USB stick into the TV it says that there is no Firmware update.

Does anybody arround here know if there are any other dependencies with the images like the Checksum ?! or if there is anything else which I could try to change that the TV accepts the "new" version with the older images ?

Or is there no chance to build "own" firmware to downgrade to older versions ...

Regards

PS: Another thought I had was if the headphone output could be used as Headphone out and also as Ex-Link port ? So if serial debug is enabled at the SM audio output is disabled ? or is this phsically impossible from the design of the board & chips which were used ?

I have no knowledge on C series. So there might be some other countermeasures on C series firmwares...
Because we don't inspect it yet. Samsung Firmwares are encrypted. In B series there is also file size indicator. When size changes , firmware becames corrupt. This option is disabled on B series, so file size checks disabled but they might be enable that filesize checks on C series firmware....
