Hi i 've just bought and unpack my DM40D - DM-D Series 40" http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owner ... DMDPLGA/ZA getting the service mode on, i picked up some information about the firmware:
I tell you it is a tuner-less TV and i do not know the firmware T-GFSLDWWC-1015.0
please have a look at the attached pic
I?have an exlink cable working and i set the RS232 jack serial on, tomorrow i gonna try to capture the booting sequence from there. Hopefully the firmware is not crypted or all my work gonna worth nothing.
Do you know anything about this device? Series/Hackability/SamygoApp Compliance/crypted root system)

exlink stay quiet? should I conclude exlink is protected? (watchdog off, 232jack set to DEBUG)

IMHO your TV is H non mst 
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)

It means no root/hack yet, even less if it's Smarthub...less
