UA32F5500 - Enabled 3D and BlueTooth, works?

Post by Heatshiver »

This is just a question that has to do with the service menu. I am able to enable 3D on this TV, as well as enable everything for Bluetooth (except for Bluetooth Address which states not supported).

I am not sure if they work however... I live in Indonesia where TV channels are not normally digital. The 3D option does appear in my TV now under my Picture Settings, and allows for 2D > 3D. However, when I turn this on, the only thing that happens to the TV picture is that it gets a bit darker. I messed with the 3D settings for depth, but this didn't change anything. I don't have a 3D Blu-ray player to test it further. I also don't have any 3D Active Glasses to test the Bluetooth. There is a Bluetooth test in the service menu. I tried the test and it gives me the message that the Bluetooth test result is "NG". I'm not sure what that means...

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it. If I can figure out what "NG" means, I believe I can determine if 3D is at all possible with this TV.

In case anybody cares, my computer does find my TV through Bluetooth! So, yes, I would say at least our Bluetooth works.

I still have to wait a bit for my 3D experiment, but I have less hope in that working...

UA32F5500 - Enabled 3D, does not work

Post by edytibi »

Later Edit:
I enabled the 3D setting choosing side-by-side option and I fed it with the Avatar trailer 3D 1080p (downloaded from youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5VRiNOnGQE ) via HDMI (I have an old mediaplayer lying around - for some unknown reason in the TV's own player I can't change picture settings). The image hasn't changed when switching to side-by-side mode, it should have ceased being split in the middle. My conclusion - it does not work.
When activating 3D side-by-side or top-to-bottom on a non-3D content should alter the image (garbage on the screen), but nothing happens.
Have you found any use for the Bluetooth yet?

I read somewhere that special hw is needed to render 3d, apart from Bluetooth. NG stands for "No good", it is very common to see that on many devices internal tests. Maybe the test fails because of that device address missing. Anyway its cool that you got BT enabled, still don't know whether it'll be useful for anything.

Hi! I have the same model but mine is from america. I tried to enable 3D but it does'nt work with a 3D sony glasses.
I looked for some samsung glasses but those are expensive. Any way I think there is a hw problem and I'm thinking in buy other TV with 3D native option :D

You didn't try again with a possitive result?
