You may try to copy WHOLE SamyGO directory from your rooting usb to usb that is used for recordings :) then you will have one recording/rooting usb ;)
Hmm, kinda difficult to achieve that since for recording you need EXT2 partition... Unless you create 2 partitions onto usb stick Image
After that the root procedure is complete, i copied the SamyGo directory (from the fat 32 usb) into the pvr usb, is not needed to get a different partition, fat32 is needed for the installation.

May be it is worth to update the first post with a sort of statistics about TV model and FW version where this rooting is working.
My H serie is in the holiday flat ... I will try it only in spring... :(

Unfortunatelly I can't connect to TV via Telnet.
I think that root procedure for my TV was not done correctly.
But why?

Lol didn't you read previous posts at all? Everything was already described... Just see your own log:

Code: Select all

+ /tmp/bin/busybox losetup /tmp/loopnone /dtv/usb/sda1/SamyGO/samyext4.img
+ /tmp/bin/busybox mount -o sync,exec /tmp/loopnone /mnt
mount: mounting /tmp/loopnone on /mnt failed: Input/output error
Nothing more to say. Same issue as Deus3X ;)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Is it possible that you could read previous posts and check EXACTLY what worked for DeusX3? :)

sectroyer wrote:Shut down TV. Unplug usb with rooting data. Plug one of your Free usb disk. Start TV and once it loads hit REC :) It will ask if it can format the disk format and recording something than get back shutdown tv attach SECOND usb (the one with rooting data), start TV :)
To resume, it seems that having both a recording device AND the rooting USB attached helps. Check Telnet then.

Once Telnet works, check F rooting topic for how-to Samba (see "Features"), it works exactly the same way.
ps: do not use Windows Notepad to create smb_userdata!!! Use Notepad++ and set linefeeds to UNIX format.
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.
