install app from other country
install app from other country
Hello
I have region set to UK . I would like to install some polish apps. I know that it is not possible from apps store.
Is any way to do it. For example download app from older rooted TV and install it as develop?

Re: install app from other country
It should be possible if you have access to the donator section, there is a list of almost all downloadable smarthub apps from all regions,
which can be then uploaded to the TV in developer mode.

Thanks for help .
It is working.
It is working.
Re: install app from other country
Just a quick heads up, if you are into some fun, you can disable ads in some applications by editing their files.
I did it for for player app, but it should be doable for most of them (just harder for some).

Re: install app from other country
If I join a thread, I have a problem with the installation of the application.
I have a Polish region, and I want to install Netflix, BBC iPlayer, 4oD. By shown above installs method only 4oD work for me. I h6500, can anyone help?

Re: install app from other country
There is problem with some apps. I couldn't install BBC Iplayer as well.
Re: install app from other country
I have no idea. I don't have root. I have tried installing few apps but had problem with BBC Iplayer only.
Re: install app from other country
I have rooted my H Series TV with SamyGO. I live in Ireland but we mainly watch TV channels from the United Kingdom so I am aiming to have Irish and British widgets available at the same time. My plan is to end up with the region set to UK and then copy the few Irish (and later other countries) widgets over. From /mtd_rwcommon/common/wgtmgr/info2.xml I found the IDs of the four Irish widgets I would like, RT? Player, TG4, 3Player, and Tunein Internet Radio. Then, from /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/normal, I copied all directories matching those IDs to my laptop, 111399002000_img, 111399002000, etc. Some just have a directory matching the ID without a corresponding directory with the ID and _img and the end.psobiech wrote:It should be possible if you have access to the donator section, there is a list of almost all downloadable smarthub apps from all regions,

From the first link http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/How_to ... gets_to_TV I read through the 'easy way' thread for SmartHub Widget Manager app, despite it being listed as only for C/D/E/F series. This program requires zip files, which the directories I downloaded to not contain.
I then looked at the second 'long way' thread for the XAMPP method. It also is looking for ZIP files.
Please advise, where can I find ZIP files for the widgets I have mentioned, and say the likes of BBC iPlayer, 4OD, ITV Player, and 5OD?

Maybe there? (at least BBC iPlayer and iTV Player, I didn't check further...)dusf wrote:Please advise, where can I find ZIP files for the widgets I have mentioned, and say the likes of BBC iPlayer, 4OD, ITV Player, and 5OD?
The problem with installing widgets over develop account (xampp or any other server way) is that installing new apps always deletes previously installed ones.
Now you have root, the easiest way is to unzip app to a folder having widget name, then copy folder by FTP to /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user. Reboot TV, app should appear in Smarthub then.
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.
