ok well if thats the case then what size is the zip file for skype suppossed to be? the one that WILL install on my tv is somewhere around 30kb, the one that WONT install is around 11.1mb... thats quite a size difference between the 2, so theres gotta be a difference in the app itself.

So I assume the one you're trying to install is the one from there?

The main problem in my opinion (just a supposition) is that Skype is not expected to be installed as a user widget and consequently expected folders/files are not created (.../moip/engines/... and so on), or it's simply not compatible with your TV. So that's probably pointless...

Agree 100%. Skype is used to be not as user app on TV, this is not only on H, but on all previous series...

What you download is only 10% of Skype app. Rest is installed by TV itself

which actually means menu -?SYSTEM -? TIME and set timer to auto power on as soon as possible . Those two are the same thing.

Well you should check SamyGO directory. If you do see ANY new files that might be helpful.

Hi,

I'm trying to root a UE40H5500 with T-MST14DEUC-2130.0 / T-MST14DEUS-1008.
Disabled both firmware updates. Using lan connection. I was able to install samygo.

Now i'm able to access the tv with telnet but i get this output:

No, root is incomplete, use FAT formatted USB and particularly follow this advice:

It seems that having both a recording device AND the rooting USB attached helps a lot.

Shut down TV. Unplug usb with rooting data. Plug one of your Free usb disk. Start TV and once it loads hit REC . It will ask if it can format the disk. Format and record something then shutdown tv, attach SECOND usb (the one with rooting data), start TV

just bumping this up in case anyone has any ideas. I do need to confirm that yes there is a .cm0013 new file.

.cm0013 file is created by TV itself on any USB device, contains some device ID and has nothing to do with SamyGO.

Any other rooting method that might be coming or the skype vulnerability is the only known one? Anything that I can do to help?

Done it with 2 USB.
Still seeing same output in telnet:
"/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off"

The log this time is a little different
