Enabling HDMI 5.1 Passthrough to Optical (UN46D6000)

I have a Samsung 47inch LED TV (Model # UN46D6000). Unfortunately, I just realized that the TV will not passthrough HDMI 5.1 audio through the optical out. I'm trying to use my TV as a basic AV receiver for a 5.1 soundbar I just purchased, but this makes things quite difficult.

I've read online that some Samsung models can be "hacked" whether through the firmware or the service menu to enable this feature. I found a guide for some other models, but nothing for mine.

Does anyone know of a guide or steps I can take to enable HDMI 5.1 Passthrough to Opcital on my TV?

Any help would be appreciated!

No problem if you're on MST (it seems you are):
