But I suggest "Software" forum for that.
Do you see that message "not for questions, developers only"
If every app has it's topic, than things could be easy.
But everyone get into it and try to ask questions with related software part of TV

Okey It's clear now. I misunderstood your said before...
We don't put all programs to Download area. There is lots of small things on forums.
We move valuable things to DL area only. Since we don't use every program and every tool, we don't know if they are stable or not. So we don't put them to DL area.
But you have some right about easy access to every program. I think some separate forum could be open like apps. So every app developer which released a tool, moves it's topic to that area and continue development from there, It became easier to follow them and being aware of their status. Might be user could be rename topic like "PVR Tool [alpha]" or "PVR Tool [Ready for Release]" so we can react then.
It's also needed that we test them and might not trust some other programs that we don't compile it, because such an utility that we don't compile might change your TV to botnet warrior, right?
But that concept becoming good to my ear.
Other members will needed to say their thoughts about it.

An sticky post with download link, thread link and a small description should be enough,
don`t think there is another forum needed for this.

Now read your doc. But I think it's not good to have such structure in forum but good for Wiki page.
Why don't you create one wiki page for "Other Applications"

Now I created a page for other applications that we don't have in main download area.
With this way, it's became easy to maintain things and define which are official and which are not. Right?

And there is also possible that have such forum that dedicated to applications too.

Default page is in polish language but you can fast translate it with Google Translate by click on flags on left.

Site include apps name, small image, short describe, version, file size, content category, authors, links for forum/official site, mirror for download. Most of apps have new icon made by me.
For each app you can use direct link (eg. SamyConsole)

Himm good work. But Its good if you put same things to our Wiki page. Instead of putting changes to your local version, you can change our releases icon files and make them better...
