DVR DRM Question
DVR DRM Question
Hello, I have a few questions concerning recorded tv-clips. Did I get this right, that the H-Series no longer stores the drm-keys on an external usb device/mdb and that the only way to decrypt the recorded srf files & convert them to ts is to root the tv & install this App and/or PVR-Decoder. But there's no way atm to decrypt the original recordings made with the original firmware offline from a usb-device, right? And in order to get the h-series-root-instructions one would have to donate.
Re: DVR DRM Question
Just hijacking your thread, but I have same issues.
I've got the files on my comp, destroied them and got ts files, no complaints from destroi, but I'm stuck there, no app recognizes the files.
IsAnother question to go with this, is rooting and installing apps on tv complicated or risky?
tx in advance

Re: DVR DRM Question
From E series (=more than 3 years!!), keys are no longer "stored on usb device" and Destroi doesn't work anymore. Rooting is not "complicated nor risky" and will allow you to decrypt recordings, but you first have to check if your TV/firmware is amongst rootable ones:
Warning : Firmware upgrade and root E/F/H
