I think sectroyer is concerned that not all new users will have the know how to do this. Or even if they do, maybe they have an unmanaged router (e.g. the router is provided by the ISP).

Why don't you publish your new root method just for "T-MST14DEUC" TV-models by now, if this is possible? Because the problems with the "OTN greyed out" in service menu is not related to "T-MST14DEUC" .

The proposed solution is a workaround -

1. Use an external DNS server to fool OTN - this is user configured and should work on boot, before root
2. After root, change temporarly back to LAN DNS and keep using it for best performance, until next reboot (via startup script).
3. Profit?

That's actually good.
Set up the custom DNS server in the network settings and after root set the internal DNS server.
I have the concern about the individual ip range which is used differently with each provider/user. Maybe make the dns-server IP equal the gateway IP after root?

Yeah and Samsung will fix that in all (regardless of the TV-model) firmware updates.
That doesn't make sense.
He doesn't want to let Samsung fix that before it is released on any model.

DNS Trick will work only after Root so we should do the Router trick until fixed it but i am wondering if they gonna release any tool soon

Hello Folks,

I am trying to root a H serie ( UE 48H7500 ) with firmware NT14UDEUC-1038
Unfortunatly no suc6 at all.

OTN is grey so nothing possible with that.
If i block the four url's in my router will that do the trick and can i go further with trying to root the TV or is at all a waste of time ?

Yes is a GFS
The last good Firmware is T-GFSDEUC_1220.4 and you can Disable OTN

I forgot to Factory Reset to switch off and get OTN update to T-GFSDEUC-1240.2

T-GFSDEUC-1240.2 can not more Disable OTN
10 days later update without a question to T-GFSDEUC_1250.8

So rooter settings didn't help ? Was automatic updates in normal menu disables. We need to be sure since does NOT force every update. Only "some"
