We are doing what we can, I got my TV updated so now I focus on blocking updates. It's the most important thing, root comes later...
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

So dns blocking on router isnt enough?

That's why you changed your signature?

Possibly (and exceptionnally) not, that's why blocking "URLs containing string" instead of DNS-based is probably more reliable.

The reason is more that he shamefully got an update (HIM!) so the entire World should now use offline TV

Well the question is more: better correctly block at least http, or incorrectly both http/https? :D
Nothing prevents from blocking both strings and DNS anyway, just sharing my own experience. Possible I'll get an update one morning :)
