Hi all,

i followed the tutorial, but i can't get the uboot prompt (step 2.e) to test the kernel image on my B550 (T-CHL5DEUC-2003.0). Uboot freezes everytime in the same way as described here:

http://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f= ... t=30#p4660

I can't find the answer how to solve this. Can anybody help me?

Regards

you need flash uboot at first, because uboot in your TV is restricted and it is freezing TV on external boot. find uboot for your TV, flash it over exlink console and just after that you can do external boot with kernel from arris. i have seen right uboot image. if you do not find it, i can help you :)

Thank you juuso. Model number of my TV is LE40B550A5WXXH. You can find more info about it in my signature.

Is there any detailed tutorial how to flash uboot? I've found wiki page about manual flashing but it doesn't cover this topic.

here is no instruction how.to flash uboot, but it is common to wiki article How to flash images by hand. check it. tomorrow i find image you require and post here instruction. or.maybe other SamyGO user does it quicker :)

Oh, i see you have 2003 firmware? great, so you can upgrade to another (2008 - pre-February too?) firmware? In this way you do not need console access.

Yes, i have 2003 FW and access to shell via debug menu. If it's needed i can upgrade to 2008 FW. I have no problem with it.

Here is downloaded from official samsung source T-CHL5DEUC-2008.0.exe, i just added required files to it (u-boot.bin, onw.bin and Image - kernel from arris69 with network support) If you want, delete Image, but leave u-boot.bin and onw.bin for restoring TV if something goes wrong during flashing procedure. Flash via normal firmware upgrade from menu.
