Himmm, I think you can solve this problem by eeprom reset.
You can search on forum. Also I think juuso will help you about process.
Please open your TV back case and take high definition photos (we needed to read chips names) and put here.

I think shortening eeprom pins helps only for first load TV and power off it to stand by. If TV goes to standby properly, its not woth to play with.
If you able get to SM, try to do eeprom reset (not just factory reset). You could also request SM settings from similar model to compare and set right settings...
