To have server for widgets, you can use http.exe from widget hack.

I know, that you do not need it anymore. Just to have question answered ;)

I don't see how setting up a tunnel answers this, a SSH tunnel i just another mean like the proxy to bypass a restrictive network or a geolocation check like the OP says. What he is asking and I also wanna know is how to tell to the samsung tv how to use the HTTP proxy or SSH tunnel.

I managed to make the tv use a proxy by configuring a proxy server (privoxy) on a local linux machine that connects to another one on the US, setting up transparent proxy with ip tables (to redirect all por 80 traffic to the proxy) and the configuring the tv to use that linux machine as his gateway. This works and the tv uses the proxy server to connect to the Internet, but still the applications that I want to use don't work (hulu, vudu, netflix).

Looking more closely I saw that there isn't any geolocation verification, the applications simply look at the country code set on the tv and refuse to play if the tv wasn't sold on the US :S

So now I'm looking at how to change that code, through the service menu or something :S

bachmann wrote:Have you changed your info link country in sub option on your TV ? For D-series you can get a remote control called "rusamsung communicator" online that has more options than an normal remote. I don?t know if it?s works with C-series.
I tried but after enabling the hotel mode and entering the service menu and selecting the hotel mode in the control menu I don't get any other menu to do the next step in the process, that is select "Clone TV to USB", so I'm stuck :(

I was following this article to change the country code.
