Re: iso file support (bd-c6900)
In B650 series TVs, we have ISO mount support. But TV's CPU has far less juice to decrypt the encryption. But it could show the unencrypted videos...
I believe it's possible to mount ISO images as virtual USB file. But you need some kernel modules for that.

Re: iso file support (bd-c6900)
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But I'm not talking about a B650 series TV. I'm asking about a Bluray Player (BD-C6900)
This player has already capability of playing 3d Bluray. So I thought if somehow I can manage to mount a ISO file on USB as the BD ROM, it might play.
any ideas ?

I assume there's no news for this but would it be even possible to develop it ?
Thanks.

You have similar idea to mine. See my thread: Playing ISO images of DVD-Video discs.mrmrmrmr wrote:I assume there's no news for this but would it be even possible to develop it ?
Thanks.
I want to play DVD-Video images, you want to play BD-Video images.
Most of people reading our questions first time don't understand well what we want to do. Let''s clarify then once again: we want to play ISO (or other disc image format) files using internal player. There is no question about CSS or other protection mechanisms because ISO file is already decrypted. All we need is to "fool" BD player that it would "think" ISO file is a [virtual] disc inserted to it.
I didn't try to mount BD ISO image because I have no such file. Did you? Anyone?
Re: iso file support (bd-c6900)
yes; totally agree.
I have several iso images but I can't try to mount them. Because I don't have access to shell of the BD player.
how do you suggest mounting it ?
thx.

First, your BD must be rooted (you need telnet / netcat access) to make such experiments.mrmrmrmr wrote:yes; totally agree.

I made my own blu-ray ISO image and tried to mount it but still with no success. I can mount it to /mnt/cdrom or /mnt/bdd but internal player doesn't see it (Disc option is grayed out and writes "No disc insterted.") Even when a real/physical DVD is inserted and ISO image is mounted later, internal media player plays that physical DVD instead of image mounted.
I think BD player rather must see our image file under /dev/cdrom (linked to /dev/sr0). But I couldn't link it because /dev is a read-only filesystem.
Maybe we need a kind of kernel driver module or so.
Re: iso file support (bd-c6900)
thanks. how did you root and get telnet access ?
of course that's a big step.
so how shall we go further ?
