I thought that about but it looks not possible with current structure of the project. Might be we could write a program that turns down leds/CFFLs and mutes the volume while showing black image.
But starting this program require content menu too. Or we leave program at background and can detect long press on selected button will initiate this mode and emulating devices off state.
This require to know how to turn down back light and detecting special buttons long press (definitely that buttons long press is not have a function in exeDSP too)

WOL will possible with this fake standby using a daemon. But no chance with real standby.

Hi,
When your Samsung TV is on and you choose PC as source but there is no running PC connected at VGA (D-SUB) input, LCD matrix turns off after about 30 seconds. I do not have equipment to measure power consumption in this state but it should be minimal.
Happy Samy hacking!

This "PC input selected" blank mode differs from running tv not only by turned off LCD matrix but remote keys are treated differently - all keys except TV, Source and Power are ignored and leaves TV in hot-standby mode. Still I did not tried if TV plays/redirects to optical sound from PC in audio input.

You can capture power-off event keypress event but I don't know how to turn backlight off at LCD's. On LED TV's, AFAIK Leds powered of when TV gets blank that saves power but th?s not happen on LCD tvs...
You can use Content Library Menu which hacked by xer21 If I remember correctly. He placed a blue button, that blanks TV completely.
