C550 T-MSX5DEUC-2005.4 upgrade, hack advantages

Hello,
I have a c530@c550 T-MSX5DEUC-2005.4 working with wifi adapter dwa-140 vs B1 FW 1.00 . After upgrade will the dongle still work?
And which are the advantages of hacking c550? Thank you
