tuning the widget configuration

In the directory /mtd_appdata/widget, there are the binaries and configuration files of the yahoo widget system. Has anybody ever played around with the configuration? One interesting thing may be to simulate a different manufacturer than Samsung to make Sony-only or LG-only widgets availlable to samsung TVs.

I tried to use the TV configuration with the PC widget simulator but then, the widget gallery denies it's access.
