BD-C5300 Firmware Down-grade

Post by roni71 »

Updated firmware on my BD-C5300 from 1024.0 to 1025.1 :o

Since then not playing most of the Blu-rays. Sometimes unable to load and othertimes hangs and don't even respond to any remote button.

Experimented following procedures.

1. Tried to down-grade with both firmware 1024.0 and 1021.4 with USB but got message ?Current firmware is latest Version?
2. Edited firmware 1024.0 using Hex editor. Changed firmware name to 1026.0 and updated date in the firmware. Got rid of latest version message and system started updating. However, after some time got message ?Error in data file?

Need help from experts to down-grade to previous firmware.

I think you are missing a 2 at the end there:
46.4.199.222
That should work
just put that in the DNS settings on your BD player and try and force an update from the settings menu. It should try and load a firmware far above the one you have right now. i.e. 1090.0
let us know how you get along.

If perform network test get following message:

I'm trying to downgrade firmware for my player too (BD-C5900, view topic at viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4683).

I tried to change DNS at Bluray player with the same error (The HTTP port is disabled. Please check if the HTTP is blocked by something like the internal firewall program).

Then I tried to change DNS at modem/router. In this case, the player starts to verify new firmware, it takes a long time then returns to menu without display any message.
