Upgrading the ffmpeg libraries

Hello. Could it be that the ffmpeg libraries are used for the support of different media files (mkv,avi,mpg,etc). If this assumption is correct, then wouldn't it be possible to add more codecs & formats to the TV by updating the ffmpeg libraries. To get rid of the "Unsupported video format" error while trying to play file with the Media Play. Could this add also the DTS support?

ffmpeg is not used for movie player for decoding media. it's only for media detection.
