3D compatibility check

Post by amyren »

I was trying to set up a HDMI splitter (1>4) with the BD-E8900n to get the outpput both to a TV and a projector at the same time. The HDMI splitter is said to support 3D.
First I get picture on both outputs, but as soon as I try to play a 3D blueray there will be a message on the screen that it has detected that some of the connected equipment does not support 3D. There seem to be no way to force the disc to play after this message apears.
But if I connect the BD player directly to the TV, and start the disc it does play with 3D enabled. Then I can disconnect the HDMI cables and put them back to pass through the HDMI splitter. Now the 3D signal is working fine passing through the splitter. (only the TV is 3D, so the projector will not show anything when playing 3D)

Is there a known way to disable the 3D compatibility check on the Samsung player so that the disc can be played without reconnecting the cables, or perhaps another solution to this?
