I bought a BD player (BD-D5500) and connected this via HDMI to my samsung TV (F7090). The TV itself is connected to the AV reveiver over a optical cable.
If I play a DVD with DD 5.1 audio (no BD tested yet) I only get a normal stereo-pcm on my AV receiver. (tried every setting in BD and TV)
If I connect the BD directly to the AV receiver, I get multichannel audio (but I've to switch the source on the AV and I cannot setup audio delay)
The TV can output multichannel audio (it works on satellite programs) Tried also all settings in the BD player (currently it is on "Bitstream out")
But when playing a video, the TV offers me only PCM and "DTS neo 2.5" (that is a kind of "remix" the normal pcm)
The items "Dolby Digital" and "DTS" are greyed out.
I also found in the internet, that forwarding multichannel audio form HDMI to TOSLINK is not possible through HDCP restrictions (Ough

Or is there an other way to get this working (My old B series could at least forward DD as far as I remeber)
Unfortunately I cannot connect my AV receiver with HDMI-ARC (Audio return channel) because it is too old (and don't want to buy a new one)
Best regards
Roland
