HDMI 5.1 to Spidf 2.0. Any solution?

Hello guys,
My TV UN40C6900 (Brazil) does not send audio from HDMI 5.1 to SPIDF (surely also other models), the TV does downgrade to 2.0
. As User manual advises that sends only via OTA or USB.
I think if the problem is hardware or software, and being problem could be fixed via software hack. Any ideas and if possible a solution?
