DVB-T/S/C in favorites list - F series

Post by Claus »

Hi

Do ANY of you know if its possible to make a favorites list where all three sources (DVB-T/S/ and C) can be present ?
In other words: A favorite list where, the first two places are Terrestic, the next place is Sat, and the 3 more places that are - lets say - from the Antenna ???

Im thinking of byuing the F8005, but watch a lot of Terrestic as well as Satelite TV - so it would be a dealbreaker for me if those two sources cant be
in the same favorites list. (Samsung does not support this, not even with their ChannelEditor prg.) - SO therefore I hope that it can be supported by
means of the SamyGO s/W.

If only there would be a way of editing the .SCM file and finding that "byte" or flag that says what the source is - I think I could fool the TV to think
all channels were the same ? But dont know if that could sort the problem.

Claus, I agree with you. I bought a UE55F8000 a few weeks ago and am operating in dual cable/satellite mode. It's a great TV, but the unwieldiness of changing from cable to satellite and the inability to combine channels from the 2 tuners is one of several irritating aspects that I believe a few hours work by a Samsung software engineer could improve with a firmware upgrade and a few hours work.

Other niggles are the lack of satellite name and transponder in the channel information and the unavailability of 1-button control of the input source (although somehow the Logitech Harmony One has the possibility of adding buttons for hdmi1, hdmi2 etc. that are not on the Samsung remote provided with the TV.

Are Samsung responsive to suggestions? If so, what is the most effective way of bringing them to their attention? Of course, if SamyGo could implement such additions, it would be fantastic.

Youre right Miley
If only Samsung could think logically :)
But I fear they do not...
(but somehow one should think would listen in to this kind of conversation that we have here...)

I have also thought of a LG - but I believe the problem is the same !!
And LG has'nt even got an alternative software "developer" like SamyGO.
