Video File Types not supported & Network lost as option

Post by sashimiso »

Hi, up until today I could play most movie formats from my NAS on my Samsung UE40D6510. MKV, MP4, AVI, etc. and I lost my "Network" option along with the "Channels" option, but I am not so concerned about the channels

I was trying to clear the cache on the tv because it kept showing the wrong movies in a folder on my NAS. I found a way to reset the TV. Well, this was a mistake, of course, or I would not be here looking for help.

I managed to get most things working again. But, I have two problems

1. In the menu, "Network" is now grayed out. I had to work around this issue in order to reconnect to my router which enabled me to get back to my NAS. I still cannot go into the Network option and have no idea why it is gray (disabled).

2. I used to be able to play many formats on my TV of videos stored on my NAS but now, it is saying video format not supported. MP4 is working but AVI's are now not supported.

So, I got the latest firmware update today from Samsung (which was difficult to find as I could not find my TV anywhere on their support site - both in, and outside the US)... but, this didn't help.

can anyone think of a way that I can get the more open formats back for the videos along with how I can re enable the Network?

Thanks in advance

Sorry, no real specific suggestions, - but it might very well be worth your time to do a factory reset from the service-menu.

Hi, yes, that is what I mentioned above. This is what caused all of the problems :)
