Having problems with srt subtitles In H Series

Post by joselito19 »

Hello everyone.
I'm new in this forum and first of all I want to thank you by your work.

Yesterday, I boought a new samsung TV UE50H6400 and, I'm experiencing a strange issue with subtitles and I cant' figure out if it's on the Media Server or the TV.
I hope that someone can help me out.

I have a raspberry pi with Raspbien on int. On the other end, there's a Samsung UE50H6400 Smart TV (FW updated too 2120).

On the raspberry I have some TV series ripped as .av or mkvi + srt subtitles file, both with the same name.

As I turn on the TV and connect to the raspberry by dlna, I see the list and I'm able to play the first episode without problem, then when I open the second (and the third, the fourth and so on), I see the video without flaws for, say, 80% of the time.

But, near the end of the movie, I start seeing the subtitles of the current video AND the ones of the FIRST video played being mixed up, as if they were on the same srt file.

Needless to say, I had before another samsung tv UE40D6200 (2012), with the same configuration and everything worked fine.
I found someone else having the same issue, withe an H series but with a nas synology. I dont't know if he could solve his problem.

Can you please tell me if :
1) On your opinion, is this a Smart TV known issue ?
2) Is it possible to solve this problem updating tv with samygo?
3) Do you know another way to solve a similar issue? An app or something to bypass this media player error?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

I have a UE40HU6900 and have had the same problem! First started a movie, then stopped and started another movie. After about 40 minutes the subtitels
of the first movie showed across the subtitels of the movie that was playing. Very anoying!!
I tried stopping the movie and start again, fast forward to the point it happens and still double subtitels from both movies!
The movie was played from a nas in the network.
It has not happened again sins then, so what it was or why...??

Yes root and do NOT use DLNA :)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Sorry for my (maybe) dumb questions, but how do i use samba om my samsung tv?
I just got this tv and the only option i know is DLNA.. browsing to my NAS server.

Other problem i got is that the maps on my NAS do not update on the tv. Doen't matter
how many maps i put on, delete or rename.. i always got the same map listing from the
first time i connected to the NAS. Very anoying!

What use is a nas server if you still cannot see new films on it??

You need to root your TV and install SamyGO :)
