Someone rooted a (UE32)H6270 already?

Post by sgi »

Got a brand new UE32H6270 (T-MST14DEUC-2121.6) two weeks ago and
disabled OTN/OTA stuff immediately.

Judging from viewtopic.php?f=74&t=8274 this set should be rootable (H-series
with T-MST < 2130) but I'd like to hear if someone can really confirm having
done this successfully this with his H6270. The reason I'm asking is because
the OTN/OTA stuff was in a different place than described in the wiki so I
wonder if the (small) H6270 might be different with this respect...

From H rooting thread:
Success already reported on:
...
-UE48H6270, T-MST14DEUC-2130.0
...
(size of TV doesn't matter, and no need to upgrade to 2130, there are also many success reports on 2121.6 ;) )

Cool, thanks! This H rooting thread is non-public, right?
At least I didn't find a corresponding post...

OK, while this is some good news I'm now even more getting
into a scrape of whether I should do this now (with almost
2 years of warranty left) or wait a little bit more...

Speaking of this: Is the rooting something which can be made
undone or is it somewhat non-reversible? I don't know how
H-rooting works -- I assume it's also USB stick based but
even if I remove the stick there will probably be some remnants
left on the internal flash fs which could be discovered by Mr.
Samsung and friends in case the set goes back for repair or
whatever...

Unplug USB and root is gone. About (very few) possible "remnants", don't worry nobody will never check :)

Don't worry, will do ;-) I won't be using the set anyway for the
next 4 weeks so I have quite some time to make up my mind ;-).

I don't mind, I earn no money on donations, it's only up to you if you want to root your TV :)

Well if you quickly don't disable OTN Support you will have nothing to "make up" your mind ;)
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Thanks for reminding me but both are set to off already.
Apart from that, there is an intercepting squid proxy sitting between
TV and outside which only allows port 80 to German HbbTV and
nothing on 443 ;-). Stupid Smart Hub is not happy about that but
I don't care about Smart Hub...

But before donating I'll have to find out how to _not_ get onto this
real-name donors list in the wiki -- this is an absolute no-go for me...
