Some question about UN46D8000

Post by elrengo »

Hi! I'm a owner of Samsung UN46D8000. I'm interesting to resolve some gaps of Official Firmware but I would like if it is possible to evacuate some doubts about SamyGO. I read the Wiki and looking for answers in Google, but I have not very clear the answer and before do an update.

Movies with more than one Subtitles

I've a lot of movies with more than one subtitles, someones movies have external subtitules files with: txt, sub, srt, etc. files, other movies have a internal subtitles inside mvk container, but have more than one. In both cases with official firmware I can not be able to change the subtitle language. It is possible with SamyGO. I'm a owner of WD HD TV Live, and I would like to move to other LCD TV that is not smart.

Digital Audio Output [SPDIF]

If I connect some device with hdmi to TV and the TV with optical audio output [SPDIF] to Home Theatre (Sony STR-K685 5.2), the audio in home theatre is not digital, only PCM stereo. I found that the original firmware can not foward the digital sound from other device connected by hdmi to home threatre, but does not exisit issues when the source is a usb hdd connected with TV.

Recording TV programs with Cable STB

I think that is PVR. It is possible to be able with the SamyGO. In my country, Argentina, I have a HD STB I woulld like if is possible to rec what I am seeing.

Oficial firmware downgrade

I really do not kwnow if with my system I need to do a downgrade, I read but for me, is not very clear at this moment. My firmware version is: 1023.

Share HDD connected in my intranet

I would like if I have connected 2 hdd to usb connection in TV, I can to share the movies on this hdd to my intranet to see it in WD HD TV Live, computer, mobile or other device.

Install Spotify

I foun dthat Spotify is not for the actual origianl firmware, Is possible to install Spotify with SamyGO

Thanks for you time!
Thans in advance!!

Regrds

I don't have a samsung tv yet, but as far as I know you can't downgrade the firmware. You should be able to share your drives via samba/nfs with sammygo. For spotify you might need to change your tv's region.

Which app are you referring to that you use that you'd wish to enable multi-subtitles?

That might help us a bit more.

I have a lot of movies, I use Spanish subtitles, for some movies I use external subtitles, file with the same name as the movie file with the extension: srt, sub, etc. Other movies has embedded varius subtitles for example English, French, Spanish and Italian inside mkv container (file and is inclued in the movie file).
When I saw it with my WD TV Live HD Media Player, when I select the subtitle I can switch beteen all of them, but in my TV that is not possible. The player that include only can see one of them but I can not select or change what subtitle I would like to see. The player automatically select the first subtitle in the list. Spanish always is in the last position and I can not select them and I can not see the movie with subtitle. I can tell that the subtitle manger that have the Samsung SmartTV Player is basic when a mkv file had more that one subtitle.
