You can enter to shell of your TV and try to load those kernel with hand, mounting the hdd by hand will indicate the problem. But If you don't know about linux BASH and it's commands I have nothing to say..

Its better to have a copy ext3 game to your TV internal memory and try to work it on there. Because ext3 requires module and if you pull USB device from TV which has ext3 game in it, than TV will reboot due missing ext3 module.
To copy ext3 to TV, you needed to enable Wiselink Write=enable from service menu. But you don't have to if you plug your HDD from other USB connection.
