If the compability list has LE40C650, am I to understand that the LE40C658 (which I have) is under that or not? :) Probably a seriously dumb question, but I have never hacked a tv before so questions away! :D

yes, c658 ist included in c650

If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.
