General Firmware snarfing/extracting

Hi I am an electrical engineer and I just recently found a love for TV tech. I am planning to get a Samsung in the near future for modding and PC use. In the mean time I bought a cheap "dumb" 4k TV (sceptre u435cv umc) to test my skills on. It's not a Samsung and I realize this is a Samsung modding forum but I found little info other except for here. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for extracting firmware off of a TV, I realize this depends on a lot of factors but just need a starting point. Also, I was hoping someone else could point me to some general info/knowledge about how TV circuits work, not the display tech but the hardware. I don't want to experiment on a more expensive Samsung until I get some gasp of this stuff haha.
