Troubleshooting tips: try to disable whatever is enabled (except telnet) and enable them one by one to see which one triggers the instability.
Another option might be to install the libPowerOff library to keep the tv awake in standby. This way you reduce the incidence of the bug: https://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?t=8987

I will try that thanks. I would expect these scripts to not be executed when I do not have the USB stick with SamyGO inserted however. Aren't they on the ext4 image that is loop mounted from there?

Yes, they are.

I saw the same behaviour when I did not have it connected once, so that would not point to a problematic init script. I will try to see what happens when I disable the things I do not need though.
Is there some documentation available on the changes that SamyGO makes to the internal filesystem on the TV and how they affect the boot up sequence? I could imagine some things are possibly a bit undetailed on purpose as not to help Samsung too much in their patching efforts.

I don't know of an official documentation, but you can have a look at the "root" script to see what it does. Most of the TV's filesystem is read-only, so files are copied on the rw storage and mounted on boot via a patched call to skype.

I see multiple scripts, getroot.sh, run.sh and run1.sh. There is also the getroot binary. Are these scripts (and binary) executed each time the TV starts with SamyGO?

I don't know. I haven't looked into them. The root author should know better.

Re: [ROOT] H "Skype refueled" root (FW<=Dec.2014, all T-GFS)
The restart problems are still not gone completely, but I found switching to wired ethernet instead of wireless brought much better performance and stability. Sticking with an SD station or a stable signal on an HDMI input for >4 minutes usually does the trick to keep the TV stable once it's turned on.

Can someone please confirm this root method works with T-GFP9DEUC-1230.2, since I have no root even when getting all green OKs.
