I think It's better to wait D series for your. Might be that learn how to implement DLNA. B and C series DLNA is BUGGY on all Samsung TV's.
And you can select output source from TV menu. So you don't get sound from internal speakers when you connect your HiFi...

1.In setting also redirect TV sound to Optical out.
2. Yes you can. Also we don't have firmware for B nor C series. SamyGO is not a firmware.

I don't think if new device with latest firmwares. They are shipped to shops too much time ago. So if you don't update by yourself they will have old firmware in it.
Also use rights of consumer law on your country. If device bought via internet, you can return device to the shop with no reason... Bought it and if it's old firmware use it, if not return the device
