problem with the SHOWTIME widget on european LCDs

Since a short time, the SHOWTIME widget is available containing sample episodes of some series. The widget is availlable for european models too if USA is entered as country in the widget settings but an error occurs if you want to play it. The trailers and bonus material works well.

Has anybody analyzed why the movie playback fails? Does the firmware for the american models contain different codecs or are there any DRM-traps?
