Add padding to PVR recordings?

Hi,

I like to use the PVR functionality on my D7000 quite alot, especially now I can record to NFS shares! I have tried both the Samsung built in EPG and the Rovi one but neither are really very good.

I'm using "Freesat" and with the Samsung guide all the EPG data is nicely populated and accurate and even supports series linking to a degree - nice! The bad bit - it doesn't pad recordings at all and starts and stops at the exact start and end times of the programme which often results in missing the start or end.

The Rovi guide does have padding (yay!) but the guide data does not populate at all when usuing Freesat so all reocrdings must be set manually - not very good.

I'm hoping that it's somehow possible to change the behaviour of the Samsung PVR on a rooted TV so that it adds 5 mins to the start and finish of recordings. What I'm asking may be completely out of the question and maybe all we can do it patch the odd byte here and there in memory but I don't really understand enough about the SamyGO exploit to know what's possible and what isn't in which case, please just let me know that it's not possible and I can let go of this dream!
