Linux dlna server / allshare server

Post by cotarelo »

Hello all,

I am looking for a good dlna server to talk to my Samsung TV. I am willing to install it on a linux based box with 500Mhz and 250Mb memory (alix board) so better it also be lightweight.

Anny recomendations?

Ok at least tell me if some of you had one and how it was :)

I tried minidlna but there certain video files that does not play (I suppose that there is transcoding issue)

To install in my TV? Or to run from the server (no vga output). Can I still have this xupnpd and have IPTV controlled by the DLNA? I am not sure what could I do with it...

GREAT! I managed to install it in my linux server compiling from the source and it works great! You can have internet television via DLNA! Thank you very much for the suggestion juuso!

 The only thing is that xupnpd does not stream local media via DLNA, and also it does not transcode :) but good solution for iptv in dlna-enabled devices
