D6100 3d help

Basically how do I use 3d? The last 3d tv we had I simply just clicked the 3d button on the remote and i could choose normal 3d or 2 other options but when I click it on this tele it only gives me the other two options which is left a left and right thing and a top on bottom which just messes the screen up and looks crap in the glasses anyway.
