un46d6300 and un46d6900 share the same firmware? Why?

I just remembered the un46d6900 has a web browser. Just like the un46d6300. That most likely explains it.

I tried changing my model to 6900 and all i got extra was broken 3d.
looks to me there is no known advantage to changing the model on a d6300 as far as i can see.
