SamyGO install works but vanishes after reboot

Post by ronzo »

I have a strange issue here with my UE55D8080. It came back from a warranty repair where the mainboard was changed and the firmware was updated to the latest Samsung version.

So here's what i did:
- Downgraded the firmware
- Installed the SamyGo widget
- Ran the widget

After those steps, everything worked but descending to subfolders over in an NFS share did not. So I did some search here and found that renaming djmount.init to djmount.init.dis and deleting the database file (I deleted the log as well) might help. So I did that. After that and rebooting the TV, SamyGo stopped working (no virtual usb drive, no nc access, no webaccess, no ftp access, ...). What i did next was removing the SamyGo widgets from SmartHub, downloading them again and running the SamyGo widget. The first try did not work, the second worked - but - after rebooting it did not work again.

So. What can I do now to find out what's going on? Any hints/tips/solutions?

Which information could be useful to solve the problem? Is there a way to completely remove and (re)install SamyGo?

Or do i really have to put the SamyGo widget as Ticker-Autostart in SmartHub so that it is run every time the TV starts?

Code: Select all

Enter smarthub ->Settings [D]BLUE -> Service Manager -> Ticker Autorun -> ON , select SamyGO
Thanks a lot in advance!

After reading a little bit more about SamyGo, especially "SamyGO for Dummies", I was able to answer all questions by myself - including the most important one:
So what's the difference between the two methods? You must activate the app each time your turn on your TV if you use a SamyGO app. A firmware modification is permanent and automatic, each time you turn on your TV. It may be harder to do but in the long run it saves you a lot of time.
