media play hasn't backlight or color tone selection
(ok, it has almost nothing, but I use it)
the solution
In service menu change colour tones for all modes and backlight for movie picture
My solution changes the default colours tones, so in picture setting all the colour tones are the same.
I 've tried to match this settings http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung- ... 522149.htm for D65 standard, it 's not perfect but way better from the cool pictures that TV has build in.
Step by Step
WARNING backup the settings you will change
1. Go to service menu
2. In the movie menu enable movie mode (with warm 2 or whatever you want). Write down the values before you change them and change settings by your prefernce (I 've change mine according hdtvtest). the original settings in Red/Blue gain/offset represent 25 in Tv's picture menu.
(TV uses cool mode tone (in white balance menu) and the rest colour tones (in movie menu) work additionally to this.
3.Go to white balance menu(its a submenu) and again write the values. We need the movies gains and offsets values, change the the cool tone values to match with movie mode tones.( TV picture gona change to way too warm, don't worry it's normal)
4. Back to movie menu change the gains and offsets to "0", do this and for normal tone
5. Power off TV
6. I have no idea but some times the changes doesn't save, you have to go to service menu and correct them(if wrong) and power off. The second time seams to always work.
Now Dynamic, typical and movie mode have the same color tone (toward D65 I hope), its not perfect the picture changes from one mode to another but anyway I don't have a colormeter to make perfect(I never seen a calibrated picture to compare). Don't forget to change brightness, color etc for "perfect" picture.
For the backlight problem I 've change the backlight in movie mode to 0.
I use this 3 modes with backlight of 10, 5, 0 and all of them have warm picture I like (only the dynamic mode seems a little off with dynamic contrast and black tone, which I don't know how to change)
while I was tring to figure out how the settings work I was working on excel, maybe it will help. This is where I learn about this http://www.avsforum.com/t/790106/samsun ... eration-qs
I 've work this on UE40B7000
hope all of this make sense
