Tenda W311M WiFi Success!

Post by Rustyspoons »

Hi All,

I have had success with the Tenda W311M USB WIFI (RT5370) dongle on Samsung PS51E550, I used the guide in the wiki to change the VID/PID however I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04.4 and used the latest drivers from the Mediatek (Ralink) website, "RT8070 /RT3070 /RT3370 /RT5370 /RT5372 USB"

Do this for step 7:

Code: Select all

7. Load your custom driver

sudo insmod os/linux/rt5370sta.ko

instead of

sudo insmod os/linux/rt3070sta.ko
It works perfectly and is a very cheap device.

Any questions please ask.

I am trying to run a Tenda W311M USB Wifi Adapter with Puppy.

I have tried to use Wary 5.11, Wary 5.12, Lupu 5.25, Puppy 4.12 and Fluppy 13. None of them would recognize the Wifi Adapter. The W311M runs fine under Win2000, and I would like to be able to run a Puppy, preferably a minimal puppy since this laptop only has 256 mb RAM.

Does anyone know of a WORKING puppy example of Puppy/W311M wifi adapter? Puppy version and any added modules, etc? Does anyone has a WORKING ndiswrapper Win driver, since mine won't create an interface.
