Timeshift "read fail"

I am looking into SamyGO in an attempt to fix timeshift limitation to 90 minutes and its recurring read failure. For clarity, I am using a 100Mb/s USB3 hard drive which is several times the required speed.
The RS232 cable thing cooled me down big time and I want to make sure I will get some return on pain investment.

1) Does SamyGO actually remediate timeshift "read fail" problem or is this a hardware issue?
2) Does it break the 90 minutes limitation?
