BD-E8900S Cinavia patch

Post by RockStar »

Is there any way of getting rid of Cinavia on this player. Either by downgrading the firmware or patching it?

No-one knows if this player can be patched? I truly hate this protection...

Read this two wiki pages, then decide if you want to try...
It will break your warranty, and there is no guaranty that it works on your model.
In fact the wiki for supported blueray players only lists one model (BD-D6900) But I did this on my HT-D6750W and it did work. So probably many more samsung BD players with firmware FIRURDEUC will work. But you do this on your own risk.

Here are the links to how to get the patched firmware, and in next step fix your problem.

tried all that. Wiki sais B-ECBHRDEUC 1011.0 is supported.
I cant get it to work though.

This protection really sucks hard. Was watching that new Evil Dead movie the other day in the home theatre.
Blazing quality, crazy surround etc. After 20 minutes, the POS protection kicked in. Had to finish the movie on my 46" D8000 :(

Hope someone figures this crap out soon.
