It seems there is no way of implementing a web-browser on this TV?
I'm surprised at this, since accessing YouTube and Facebook must mean accessing remote URLs.
Or is there any indirect way of doing this, through an attached PC?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

yes, trough attached pc: connect your TV as secondary monitor and use any browser installed on pc.
