I have the UN32H5203 with a USB drive attached to it containing video files. The TV itself is connected to my LAN via wired ethernet.
Am I able to access the USB drive from a PC on the network, while the drive is still connected to the TV, so I can add video files? I read that a custom firmware allowing ftp access would allow this but haven't been able to find much info.

Re: Have a simple question but getting conflicting answers
My best guess is that you *can* make this happen soon.
The H-series will be rootable in a very short while, and after that
you should be able to do as you describe, even if I wonder why you would want to (?).
Just let the TV browse your network devices and play the content you want directly, without copying anything ..

I provide NO assistance by PM, unless absolutely necessary. Please ask questions in dedicated topics.

Only if you disable OTN Support ASAPLordbyte wrote:My best guess is that you *can* make this happen soon.

I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!

Re: Have a simple question but getting conflicting answers
Yes, if I stream from a network device to the TV using DLNA, I'll eliminate the need for copying. However, I've found that the FF/RW/resume play functions do not work when streaming using DLNA. However, if the same file is played from a drive attached directly to the TV's USB port, these functions work properly.Lordbyte wrote:My best guess is that you *can* make this happen soon.

All of these issues are already solved ( I use it every day) but ONLY if you first disable OTN Support in service menu. The longer you wait the bigger the chance you will NEVER solve your problemsSailingAway wrote:

Re: Have a simple question but getting conflicting answers
Which DLNA server are you using and is it on a Windows machine?
Re: Have a simple question but getting conflicting answers
You can use a UPnP media server instead of DLNA with preset photo, music, video folders as basic alternative to SMB.
