Is your TV support telnet with 3001.1 Firmware? I think not. This telnet output looks like 3000.2.
AFAIK if you installed 3001.1, you cannot enable the telnet.

You've said you have used the "Alternative Software" method, this says you have 3000.2 on one partition and 3001.1 on other one.
Therefore you can only use the first option.
Option two can only be used if you have an older FW on your backup partition, there is now 3001.1.

Himmm. It's look like you reverted back successfully.
I prefer to boot with external firmware. It's more safe.
Please flash uboot code to your partition. With it, you can use external firmwares to boot.
Your codes looks ok, but again there could be problem every time. With proper uboot, you can avoid almost all problems like bricking... ;)
And don't forget to backup all partitions before the flashing. It might be precious later... Wish not..
