im getting the same thing
trying to do reset because its stuck on the Smart TV logo

I have followed the instructions as above,
the problem continues
after realsing the short, and then trying to get into the service menu from standby, it just gets stuck on the smart tv logo again so i never get to the menu.

I have the same model number showing on the board as in the image

i even tried holding the exit button for 15 seconds, then left arrow and enter... that didnt help either

anyone ever got round this?

*UPDATE re: my H7000*
Tried to clear the eeprom again few times... it appeared to be fruitless until
[subnote: I tried using the ground pin for the reset before i gave up, who knows maybe that helped, no damage from it anyway]
- i take no responsibility if you drop your screwdriver on any pins your not meant to short ! :)

Was still stuck on logo and couldnt get into service menu... but this helped >>>
then [Menu] then [Mute] then [Power] ----- wait for the remote LED to stop flashing then >>>
[Enter] then [Down] then [Down] then [Enter] ----- then [Left] then [Return] ----- then Press the [power button]
then i did this again
then [Menu] then [Mute] then [Power] ----- wait for the remote LED to stop flashing then >>>
And wahoo, I have my service menu again and its no longer stuck on the Smart TV logo

Now to make sure that the settings are correct, and fingers crossed when i put it back together and plug the satelite dish back in that i can watch the news. :)

Hope this helped someone else,
thanks to the person who posted a link in the Series A support section showing the Panos method on youtube

I didnt expect it to work, and nothing else was till i did this... maybe of course i was lucky and it just needed me to reset the eeprom so many times, maybe it was testing my patience, ha.

good luck.
