samyext4.img corrupted

Today I've found my SamyGO not starting anymore.
By inspecting the pen drive in a Linux machine I found that samyext4.img is corrupted, probably due to a crash in SamyGO I had

Shall I go ahead repairing the file system with fsck or should I start from a clean samyext4.img?
The samyext4.img lacks the lost+found directory, is it normal?

You might repair current one if you have some files to recover, but better restart from a clean one then.

Great!
For the record, both ways (repair the corrupted image and start from scratch) worked out.
I stick with the repaired file system as I made customizations over time which I don't want to loose.
Inserting the pen drive in the TV starts SamyGo as usual; I didn't even need to rerun the widget!
