When downloading PVR recorded files from my rooted h6470 (2120.0) with ftp, the
transfer sometimes decreases from initially 11+MBytes/s (100 MBit link) down to a few
hundred kBytes/s.
This might happen quickly after a few GBs have been transferred or it takes 50 or more
GB but sooner or later it happens. It is no sharp drop but merely a slow decrease.
I have done a lot of things to find out what's causing this including:
- stopping the transfer and starting it again
- changing the switch port
- changing the switch (to a managed one which tracks detailed port statistics)
- changing the cable
- pulling and inserting the cable (so the link gets renegotiated)
- stopping and restarting ftpd
- checking with top if there are any memory or cpu hogs
- check the log files for something unusual
nothing helps. The TV itself works as usual all the time -- no time lags or stuff like that.
telnet sessions works as usual. The only thing that helps is switching the TV off and on.
After that, ftp speed is back to 11+MBytes/s -- sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes
for half an hour.
Anybody else seeing this?
ftp speed decreases
Re: ftp speed decreases
expected. You have to reboot TV

I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!

Why should they? The crap is sold, so what...sectroyer wrote:It's samsung tv network bug. Samsung is OBLIGATED to fix it but they will NOT.
Thanks for the insight! (Still wondering what they actually did
to "implement" such a bug ;-))

Re: ftp speed decreases
I _think_ I tried this as well, no luck. Will test again in about 3 weeks...sectroyer wrote:You can make some tests with scp I think it also happens there :)
