I don`t think you need to play with root. But To get PVR decoder working and decrypt your recordings (online or offline, does not matter), you have to root TV. So it is up to you: to root or not to root.

Ah, you mean that the keys are on the stick? o.O

Anyone wrote that the keys are in the TV flash..... That was the reason for my question

EDIT:

Here is the message

"The recordings are encrypted so a key is needed for decrypting. Unfortunately this key is stored in an hidden part of your tv, so root access is needed in order to be able to reach that location."
